What distinguishes my practice:

  • I offer  clinically sound and science based treatment.  Brain research is hugely broadening our understanding of emotion. Recent studies introduce new therapeutic techniques for enhancing the therapy process and improving outcomes.
  • Encouraging  ’mindfulness’  is a dynamic component of my work.  Mindfulness involves cultivation of  internal awareness of bodily functions  including  sensation, breathing, temperature, and muscular tension. Mindfulness is not difficult and really helps to alleviate anxiety and improve mental clarity.  Mindfulness is integral to yoga, which has been shown to reduce panic responses in the brain.
  • Establishing and maintaining a safe and trusting relationship with each client is an absolute priority.  It is the tried and true rule of thumb that all good therapy emerges from a strong therapeutic alliance between client and psychotherapist.

About the practice

I  have had 20 years of clinical experience helping teenagers, adults, and couples presenting a wide array of problems.  My work addresses mental clarity, sound judgment, and emotional balance by way of improving emotional stability, relationships, and cognitive and physical performance.

I am located in Vienna, Virginia. I accept some insurances and will work to make treatment affordable.
