Neurofeedback has advanced from mere curiosity in the 1960s and 70s to a
current mainstream treatment modality for specific medical conditions and
for improving human performance. The advancement is driven by scientific
research evidencing strong connections between the brain and emotional and
physical health. (
See a recent NIH article in “Emotions and Health” ). Unlike medicine, Neurofeedback is completely noninvasive.
New technology visually manifests these connections to create a safe and
powerful way to remedy:
Neurofeedback is a non-drug and painless methodology. Three little sensors
are attached to the scalp with small amounts of water soluble paste. (Paste is entirely removed with an equally small amount of solution so no discernable trace remains when you leave.) Sensors read and feed your brainwaves into an amplifier linked to
my computer. Compatible software converts your brainwaves into frequencies
that translate into audio and video displays resembling video games, so your
brain effectively watches itself on screen. Automatically, your brain begins to self-adjust in ways correlating to mood, health, and performance. A similar process applies to dancers who learn best practicing in front of a mirror.
Results include symptom relief, improved
emotional regulation, and enhanced health and performance.
Neurofeedback should only be provided by licensed and trained
psychotherapists. As an experienced licensed psychotherapist, I can provide
and emotionally attentive environment that integrates readings into a safe
and sensible treatment plan. With many hours of professionally supervised
Neurofeedback training under my belt and regular ongoing education at
supervised conferences and workshops, I can ensure that you or your loved
one will receive Neurofeedback in accordance with current standards of
Neurofeedback and Mental Health care.
